System Requirements

System requirements: in order to install and run Window Eyes successfully, you need to have at least the following: Windows 2000, Windows 2000 server, all 32 bit versions of Windows XP and Windows Vista, including XP Home, XP Professional, XP Media Center, Windows server 2003, Vista ultimate,  Vista Premium, Vista basic, Vista business, and Vista Enterprise are supported.  The system requirements for Window Eyes should match or exceed those of the recommended operating system. Specifications for where Window Eyes will be installed.  For information on recommended operating system specifications, please refer to your operating system owners manual.  GW Micro’s system specification recommendations are for windows XP: 1.5 GHz processor or greater, 1 GB of RAM or greater; for Windows Vista, 2 GHz processor or greater; 2 gigabyte of RAM or greater; additional recommendations: for software speech, a multichannel sound card such as the Sound Blaster RG or Sound Blaster live, is strongly recommended.  Note that increased RAM will assist in the performance of software speech.  By definition, a software synthesizer uses your existing soundcard.  If you do not have a multichannel sound card, then your sound card will be tied up for your text-to-speech synthesizer, meaning it cannot be used for other sound effects that may be generated.  This is why a multichannel sound card is preferred. This way you can be using eloquence or deck talk and listen to real audio on the web at the same time.  For example, note the requirements may vary depending on your own configuration and applications installed.
