GW Micro - Developer's Corner :: FlashFlash is a very visual medium, and blindness is not. It is, therefore, vital for Flash developers to remember at least one thing: screen reader users do not use the mouse. Granted, Window-Eyes has mouse support that provide an alternative method of accessing information on the screen, but when developing Flash objects, it is critical that keyboard input be the primary focus for accessibility needs. More information on creating accessible Flash applications can be found at: Adobe's Accessibility Resource Center Stephen Hawking and Me - Flash MX Accessibility Read more about Window-Eyes interaction with Flash: Window-Eyes Manual: 19.4: Flash For a list of accessible Flash samples, check out Andrew Kirkpatrick & Bob Regan's Accessibility blog. You could also do a Google search for Accessible Flash Examples. |
